Booths has rolled out a promotion on produce lines to encourage shoppers to eat more healthily.
The northern retailer has started a ‘buy four for the price of three’ campaign earlier this month across 470 fresh fruit & veg lines.
The offer, which lets customers mix and match different items, will run throughout summer until 30 August.
“Healthy seasonal fresh fruit and veg should be a priority for everyone and we wanted to target our promotions to support good nutritious food,” said Booths head of trading and marketing John Gill, adding the initiative was part of its ‘Good Grocer’ philosophy.
“Customers can mix and match across the whole offer, meaning plenty of choice and an incentive shop for more fruit and veg.”
The upmarket grocer said the promotion was popular among shoppers as fresh fruit & veg sales volumes were up 13% since it launched on 6 July.
Supermarkets have been making efforts to encourage customers to eat more healthily whilst making more sustainable shopping choices at more affordable prices.
Earlier this week, Sainsbury’s brought back its Great Fruit & Veg Challenge. M&S recently joined forces with the national football teams for a healthy eating campaign, and Tesco’s Better Baskets initiative highlights affordable products in store that are nutritionally healthy to nudge shoppers away from HFSS foods.
