Booths has urgently recalled its own-label British corned beef due to a risk some could contain pieces of metal.
The recall applies to 100g packs with a use-by date of 8 May 2019.
The Food Standards Agency warned the presence of metal in the products made them unsafe to eat and presented a safety risk, and urged customers not to eat them.
Booths has issued in-store point of sale notices for shoppers explaining the recall and advising them to return purchases to any branch for a full refund with or without a receipt.
No other Booths products are known to be affected.

Booths said it is investigating the matter with the supplier.
“The product is being recalled as a precautionary measure due to possible metal contamination,” a spokeswoman told the Grocer. “Booths takes issues of food safety very seriously and apologises for any inconvenience.”
In February Booths recalled three of its own-brand vegetable soup mixes and its diced red and white onions due a risk some could contain metal pieces.
