Sainsbury’s is to introduce Braille signage at its store in Peterborough ahead of the Paralympics later this month.
The signage, which has Braille printed at the bottom of it, will be added next week to help blind or partially-sighted shoppers identify the different sections in each aisle.
The move follows a successful trial at the retailer’s Woolton store in Liverpool in September last year.
“This is going to have a massive impact with our customers who suffer from sight loss,” said store manager Terry Eastcott. “We take great measures to ensure our customers receive a high level of service when they shop with us, whether they’re able-bodied or disabled,” he added.
