Brakes is targeting the potential of the Christmas sharing market with a new range of pre-prepared tapas as part of its new autumn and winter offer.
The tapas options, which include mushroom and Stilton topper, meatballs in a Spanish-style sauce, and chicken livers and bacon lardons in balsamic dressing, are designed for customers who fancy a variety of dishes without ordering too much food.
“Lots of people are snacking more so we thought it was good to do sharing platters,” said Sally Sturley, Brakes head of food marketing. “The mushroom Stilton toppers could also go on top of burgers, breads and even be used as a base for sauce.”
The foodservice wholesaler is also promoting classic fish and seafood options on Christmas menus with paupiettes of yellowfin sole with a smoked salmon mousse and white wine sauce one of the main dish highlights.
