Bunge, the world's largest oilseed processor, has acquired Corn Products in a deal worth $4.4bn (£2.2bn).
Corn Products supplies corn syrup, starches and sweeteners to companies including Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Kellogg, Unilever and Nestlé.
The acquisition would expand Bunge's operations and add higher margin products to its portfolio, said Bunge chairman and CEO Alberto Weisser.
