Managing director of C&A UK Neil McCausland, is to join armed forces retail operation NAAFI as chief executive.
McCausland has spent the past year at the head of the high street fashion chain after 20 years with Marks and Spencer in a variety of roles. He has worked in the UK, Ireland and in the US, and his responsibilities have included commercial management, finance, personnel and property.
McCausland will join NAAFI in February to succeed Geoffrey Dart, who becomes deputy chairman on the retirement of chairman Air Chief Marshal Sir David Evans after 16 years service. Dart then takes up the post of chairman in June.
This year NAAFI restructured, converting its retail and leisure divisions into three geographical areas UK, Germany and International. It has also created a new division, NAAFI Partnerships, to concentrate on profitable new business opportunities.
Over the past four years NAAFI has invested £35m in shops and clubs worldwide and turned an annual £5m loss into an £8m profit.
