Members can call a dedicated number at the retailer’s head office and place an order

Orders will be picked by the customer’s local store and packed for collection the following day
Central England Co-op has launched a call and collect service to make it easier for its members to get support with their shopping during lockdown.
The society, which has more than 240 food stores across 16 counties, said it created the service as part of ongoing efforts to provide access to food and essentials to people across the communities in which the business trades.
Members of the mutual can call a dedicated number and place an order, which is then picked by their local store and packed ready for collection the following day.
Payment will be taken over the phone from the retailer’s head office.
“As a co-operative society, supporting our members is at the heart of what we do,” said Central England CEO Debbie Robinson. “We know some members may need help in getting the food they need during these uncertain times.
“This is why we have launched our call and collect service, exclusively for members who may need that help.
“All members have to do is follow some simple steps and they, or a nominated person, will be able to place an order and pick it up with ease.
“We have been committed to helping communities access food and vital essentials during this global pandemic and this is just another way we can continue to do just that.”
