Duck producer Cherry Valley has claimed a major victory in its bid to take a larger share of the retail market by winning a listing in Tesco.
Cherry Valley, which was awarded Freedom Food status this month, has started supplying Grade A 1.9kg frozen ducks to Tesco nationwide. It rears eight million ducks a year and predominantly supplies foodservice but has ambitions to become a major player in UK retail.
"This opportunity is part of a strategy to expand further in the sector following our listing with M&S last year," said sales and marketing director Eric Jagger.
