Co-op has extended availability of its groceries on Amazon.co.uk to customers in Nottingham and Bristol.
Customers in the cities and their surrounding areas can now do a “full Co-op grocery shop” from around 10,000 SKUs on the Amazon site, with same-day delivery on orders over £40 and two-hour scheduled time slots.
Co-op partnered with the e-commerce giant in September to launch the service in Glasgow. It became available to users in Bournemouth in October.
Products are picked and packed by local stores and delivered by Amazon’s ‘Flex’ courier pool drivers.
Shopping at Co-op on Amazon is accessible to Amazon Prime members as “part of the benefits, at no extra cost”. The partnership was “another way for us to provide our Amazon Prime customers with more choice, value, and convenience to shop for their everyday groceries” said Olivier Girard, head of Amazon UK grocery marketplace.
Co-op’s ambition is for Co-op on Amazon to “become a nationwide service” it said. The Co-op is the third supermarket to make its groceries available on Amazon, after Morrisons and Booths.
“With convenience at the core of our approach, we are committed to finding new ways to expand access to our products and services, and we are delighted to be able to share our products on Amazon.co.uk,” said Chris Conway, Co-op head of e-commerce.
