The Co-operative Group has launched an online pledge to encourage customers to promise to always choose ethical mineral water over standard mineral water when shopping at its stores.
The Water Pledge follows the relaunch of the society's own-label ethical mineral water, The Co-operative Fairbourne Springs, in September last year.
For every bottle sold, a donation of between 5p and 20p is made to fund the installation of special water pumps in Africa.
The Co-op Group has raised more than £200,000 since the relaunch, funding 26 water systems to provide fresh water for 60,000
people.
