W Comms took Unilever’s hit Marmite Neglect TV ads and spun the concept out into a PR campaign warning the UK was heading towards Marmageddon. Kicking off with an online film, activity included the launch of an 0800 helpline number and social media interaction based around current events such as the general election. The brand also drafted in former EastEnder Dean Gaffney to front efforts to end ‘celebrity neglect’. “W’s brave approach was precisely in tune with the Marmite attitude and exceeded all expectations,” said Unilever.
