One Manchester-based supplier is hoping Easter will get messy for reasons other than chocolate with the launch of Cream Egg alcohol shots.
The fortified wine shots, which retail for 99p for four, have been developed by budget alcohol supplier Manchester Drinks. The seasonal line is currently being sold into Home Bargains, 99p Stores and Poundland.
Manchester Drinks said it was looking to replicate the taste of Cadbury’s popular product in alcohol form and was giving shoppers “a reason to be merry” this Easter.
However, Cadbury was clear to point out that it has nothing to do with the budget alcohol product. “We always say that the only way to enjoy Creme Egg is the original way: egg-shaped,” said a Cadbury spokeswoman.
