Diageo has secured two separate deals to distribute five of its brands in the UK – two for the first time.
Spirits brand distributor Marblehead, which handles the likes of Glen Moray single malt and Berkley Square Gin, will handle distribution for orange bitters Amer Picon and Canadian blended whisky Crown Royal, both of which are new to the UK. Brand agency Catalyst Brands, meanwhile, will add Jeremiah Weed brews, J&B Rare blended Scotch and three variants of Pampero Venezuelan rum to its portfolio, which already includes the likes of Skyy vodka, Campari and Greenall’s Gin. Both deals start on 1 March and cover both the on and off trade.
“We are confident that we have chosen two great partners in Marblehead and Catalyst Brands,” said Andrew Cowan, Diageo GB country director. “Catalyst have proven brand-building expertise and have delivered strong results in the past two years. Having worked with Marblehead on the distribution of Ypióca in the UK, we believe this is a successful model for growing some of our smaller, and more specialist, brands in this marketplace.”
