Danone has jumped on the growing breakfast yoghurt trend with the launch of three granola-topped single-serve yoghurts under its Activia brand.
Activia Breakfast Pots are available in vanilla, peach and ‘hint of honey’ flavours, each topped with “extra crunch” granola in a separate ‘top hat’ lid.
The pots (rsp: 99p) will roll out into Waitrose on Monday (16 July) and Asda on 20 August, having gone into Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Tesco at the beginning of the month.
Activia senior brand manager Marianne Koch said Danone had launched the pots to drive consumption of yoghurt at breakfast in the UK. “Only 5% of breakfasts feature a yoghurt,” she said. “This is why we have launched Activia Breakfast Pots, alongside Activia Pouring Yoghurt we launched 18 months ago.”
Separately, Danone has added a coconut variant to its Activia Intensely Creamy range. The new variant - as well as the existing Intensely Creamy caramel flavour - will carry an on-pack “Temptations” flash to highlight their indulgent flavour and creamy texture.
