Diageo has announced two changes to the make-up of its executive committee.
Dayalan Nayager, currently president of its operations in Africa, is to head up the spirits giant’s business in Europe. He replaces John Kennedy, who has been acting as president on an interim basis since January 2024.
Kennedy had previously departed Diageo in December 2022 after a near 30-year stint at the Johnnie Walker maker.
Over the past 12 years, Nayager had “led several Diageo businesses in Europe, including Great Britain, Ireland and France, and also ran Diageo’s Global Travel retail business,” a statement from Diageo said. He will continue to act as Diageo’s chief commercial officer.
Replacing Nayager in Africa is Hina Nagarajan, who was previously in charge of Diageo India.
Nagarajan’s successor was announced as Praveen Someshwar by Diageo in January.
Someshwar joined Diageo from HT Media, one of India’s largest and best-known media groups. Prior to this, he spent 24 years with PepsiCo across a variety of general management, finance and strategic roles in India and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
