London-based Doghouse Distillery has launched its own “British take” on the aperitivo.
Doppelgänger is billed as a “delicious bitter-sweet” drink, which was “perfect for enjoying on sunny afternoons”, said Doghouse.
The 20% abv drink had a “flavour profile of citrus, rosella (hibiscus), mountain roots and herbs”, it added.
It has launched into Master of Malt, The Whisky Exchange and is also available via the brand’s website, from selected wholesalers, retailers and on-trade venues (rsp: £21.50/700ml).
The drink is also sold on the brand’s website in a 50ml format as part of a ‘Spritz Kit’, also comprising mini bottles of prosecco and elderflower cordial (rsp: £12.95).
Doghouse founder Braden Saunders said Doppelgänger was “the perfect spirit for kick-starting your afternoon or evening with good friends and great music”.
“We’re really happy with the outcome of the latest addition to our portfolio – the liquid’s bold look and taste will provide people with a new high-quality English-made spritz serve, to be enjoyed in the garden, next to the pool, by the river, or at a picnic in the park,” he added.
It comes after Doghouse last November added a chilli-bacon flavoured vodka to its portfolio of spirits.
