Greg Peterson has been appointed MD of Kellogg UK after 15 years at Kellogg.
Peterson was most recently MD of its Australia and New Zealand operations. He joined the company as a product manager and held a number of positions before taking up the role of vice president of marketing services in 1998. In 1999 he became MD of Kellogg South Africa and a year later was made managing director of Kellogg Asia.
From 2002 to July 2006 he was president of Kellogg Canada, which Kellogg said achieved consistently strong growth in net sales and profit under his leadership, before moving to Australia and New Zealand.
Peterson has replaced Tony Palmer, who left last month after four years to become chief marketing officer at Kimberly-Clark.
"Greg has had considerable success with Kellogg around the world. This will be invaluable to the UK where consumers are continuously looking for great new foods," said Tim Mobsby, president of Kellogg Europe.
Prior to Kellogg, Palmer held a variety of senior marketing and general management positions at Coca-Cola in the United States, and before that at Mars Confectionery in his native Australia. At Kimberly-Clark, Palmer is responsible for leading the development of a global focus on marketing.
