Eat 17 has launched its first store with food delivery giant Just Eat.
Its Hammersmith site went live with Just Eat earlier this month.
The London food and convenience chain has three other stores in Hackney, Bishop’s Stortford and Walthamstow.
Co-founder James Brundle told The Grocer it already used Deliveroo as its main platform but was aiming to join other delivery channels to make it as convenient as possible for customers to receive its products.
Its Walthamstow branch also partnered with on-demand grocery startup Grocemania in June last year as it looked to fulfil orders within an hour.
“Customer shopping habits are changing quickly with customers choosing to self-isolate or reduce the amount of time they spend outside their home,” said Brundle.
“By adapting our offering, we can make sure they get their favourite products as quickly as possible.”
The new partnership with Just Eat will see Eat 17 offer 194 lines including its ready meals, sandwiches and sourdough bread, as well as local produce and everyday items.
Its new homemade chocolate range, which launched this month, will also be available. It includes plain white, milk, and dark chocolate options, as well as a milk honeycomb flavour.
Eat 17 told The Grocer the chocolate range would be manufactured in its new chocolate factory in Bishop’s Stortford and would be looked after by its resident chocolatier Jade Alterman.
