There were definitely no tears being shed at stand number 1525 where Surrey broker The Food Masters was showing off cans of fried onions under the Eazy banner.
Produced by Spanish manufacturer Eurocebollas (literal translation Euro onions'), the tins of olive oil-fried, chopped onions are the result of research which found that the job most people hated in the kitchen was chopping onions.
Recently listed by Tesco, the product retails at 79p for a 390g can and can be used in most cooking in place of fresh onion.
Food Masters MD Philip Freathy said: "We have been in business for 15 years and have never known anything move so quickly. Interest is overwhelming."
