Bird's Eye Wall's chairman Iain Ferguson has been appointed senior vice president of corporate development across the Unilever estate.
As chairman, Ferguson was responsible for the launch of Birds Eye Wall's Enjoy! brand and the restructure of its ice cream business.
His replacement at the helm of Birds Eye Wall's will be James Hill, former chairman of Lever Brothers, who takes up his role next month.
Ferguson put his move and that of Hill down to "normal evolution", pointing out that he had been chairman of Birds Eye Wall's for six years.
He said that in his new post he will "develop Unilever to be where the consumer will be in 10 years time".
Ferguson will be based at the London headquarters.
Keith Weed becomes chairman of the recently merged Lever Fabergé business.
Bird's Eye Wall's sales director Tony Pearce is taking early retirement at the end of 2001 after 37 years in the industry.
