Ferrero has returned Kinder Bueno ice cream cones to UK supermarkets.
Two variants – Classic and White – have hit Morrisons in single 90ml cones (rsp: £2) and multipacks of four (rsp: £4.95).
They feature hazelnut ice cream, a disc of Kinder Bueno chocolate decorated with crispy cocoa sprinkles and a crunchy hazelnut-cocoa core, wrapped in a wafer cone with a hazelnut cocoa tip.
A version of Kinder Bueno ice creams previously launched in 2019 as part of a three-year partnership between Unilever and Ferrero. However, the treats disappeared from freezers after the partnership dissolved at the end of December 2020.
Ferrero has since reformulated the cones with a “multi-texture” recipe. The revamped Classic singles will roll into the convenience channel in February.
Morrisons is the first UK supermarket to list the NPD, but Ferrero has a wider rollout planned for Kinder Bueno cones in 2025, building on the launch of Nutella ice cream in August.
“The Kinder Bueno ice cream cones first launched across Europe several years ago and have delivered an exceptional performance to date,” said Ferrero regional marketing director for ice cream Dani Hayward-Bradley.
“What’s more, when launched in Ireland last March, Kinder Bueno ice cream cones were hailed as two of the best-performing new products in the category, demonstrating the potential opportunity on offer to drive additional ice cream sales in the UK market.”
