Five workers at a Surrey branch of Morrisons have been jailed and face deportation after being caught working illegally in the UK.
The Indian nationals were arrested at the Oxted branch in a police crackdown on illegal immigration. Four men pleaded guilty to using false identities to obtain registration to work in the UK, while a fifth man, who came to the UK on a visitor’s visa, admitted buying a fake passport after his visa expired. All were jailed for between eight and 12 months and recommended for deportation by the judge.
Morrisons declined to comment.
