Reggae Reggae Sauce entrepreneur Levi Roots has extended his £30m brand into soft drinks for the first time, launching a range of Caribbean-inspired fruit juices and carbonates.

Made by Vimto owner Nichols, the fizzy range (rsp: from 65p) includes variants such as Fiery Root Ginger Beer with Lime 'n' Honey and Caribbean Crush, while the ambient fruit juices range (rsp: £1.59 for one litre) includes Papaya 'n' Lime and Spicy Reggae Reggae Tomato Juice variants.

SoBe
Launched: February 2011
In its bid to boost the natural credentials of the energy drinks sector, Britvic has launched hit US drink SoBe into the UK. It kicked off with exclusive UK variant SoBe Pure Rush (rsp: £1.39 per 250ml can), which contains guarana, ginseng and 'naturally sourced' caffeine and is free from artificial colours and flavours.

Ribena Sparkling

Ribena has entered the carbonated drinks sector with Ribena Sparkling (rsp: 99p for 500ml) in Blackberry and Raspberry flavours. "People buy into the values of the brand and the quality of the product. It's a logical step to offer that as a sparkling as well as a still product," says Colin Seymour, sales strategy & category marketing director for brand owner GSK.

Tropicana Lemonades

Tropicana has introduced what it claims is the first-ever range of still lemonades to be made from 100% natural fruit juice (rsp: £2.20 for 900ml; £1.17 for 300ml). Available in traditional lemonade and pink lemonade variants, the drinks provide consumers with one of their five daily recommended servings of fruit and veg.
