A flood of recruits in recent months has fuelled expansion of Blakemore Trade Partners’ petrol forecourts.
The Spar retailer has recruited three new multiple site forecourt retailers since August. They are Raj Odedra, Lawrence Wells and Christian Watts, who have relaunched nine units under the Spar fascia.
Odedra has two stores in Peterborough and one in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. Wells’ stores are in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, Datchet, Berkshire, and Shrewsbury, Shropshire. Watts’ outlets are in Gravesend, Maidstone and Lenham, Kent.
Louis Drake, development director of Blakemore Trade Partners, said the business had enjoyed a successful few months for retailer recruitment, welcoming 58 new stores since May.
“We’ve already revised our inbound recruitment target upwards due to the hugely successful start to the year, and with an ever expanding pipeline of retailers wanting to join, recruitment shows no sign of slowing down,” he said.
Jerry Marwood, Blakemore Trade Partners’ managing director, added that innovative new store formats, a flexible partnership approach and breadth of services along with the Spar brand name, meant the company had “a very strong proposition for retailers”.
