The Food Standards Agency has rejected broadcasting regulator Ofcom's proposals to partially ban junk food television advertising to children.

At its board meeting later today, the FSA is expected to agree that Ofcom should ban all junk food advertising before the 9pm watershed.

In an audio broadcast posted on the FSA's website, board members said that Ofcom's proposals were “extraordinarily disappointing”, “watered-down” and “half-hearted”.
