Scottish craft brewery Fyne Ales has added a new Origins range of beers created with foraged ingredients.
The lineup consists of Pandora, an 8.3% abv saison conditioned on foraged blackberries, Kilkerran Wee Heavy, a 7.6% dark Scotch ale matured in Kilkerran whisky barrels, Amphora, an 8.1% blended grape ale fermented in wine barrels with sweet cherries, and Goodnight, Summer, a 5.4% wheat beer brewed with camomile (rsp: £4.95-£6.95/375ml).
The NPD was designed to showcase the brand’s “provenance and status as an authentic Scottish farmhouse brewery” said Fyne Ales. It was “uniquely positioned in Scotland to create adventurous, unorthodox beers that tell a story and give a sense of where they were brewed in every drop” added the brewer’s MD Jamie Delap.
It will be available from specialist bottleshops, indies and the brand’s online shop from Monday 11 December.
The new beers were inspired by a “huge increase in interest in complex, small-batch beer in the USA”. “Talking to and visiting breweries like Jester King, Allagash and Hill Farmstead over the past few years, we’ve been hugely inspired by what they’re doing to make creative beers that are proudly a product of and showcase of their environment,” said Fyne Ales brewer Andrew Ladis.
