Gardman Wild Bird Care has joined forces with the Royal British Legion to raise money for serving members and veterans of the UK armed forces through the launch of an ornamental bird feeder and a feed blend.
Each sale of the cast iron Poppy Bird Feeder (rsp: £6.99) or the 1.8kg bag of Wild Bird Seed Blend (rsp: £4.99) will see 50p going to the British Legion, while a 12.55kg bag of seed (rsp: £14.99) will donate £1.50.
Peterborough-based Gardman, a supplier to retail stores and independent garden centres across the UK, has become an official corporate partner of the armed forces charity in a year-long partnership from this month.
“More than half of adults in the UK feed birds in their garden and many want to create a supportive garden habitat for them,” said Gavin White, consumer brand manager at Gardman. “The poppy is an iconic symbol in relation to our armed forces, and we expect our beautiful bird feeder and accompanying premium feed to prove very popular.”
The charity’s head of corporate partnerships, Louise Ajdukiewicz, added: “The money raised will enable the Royal British Legion to continue its work providing vital care and support to members of the British armed forces past and present, and their families.”
