Irish dairy giant Glanbia is to take on the might of Dairylea by launching a lunchtime snack pack aimed at kids.
Munchsters, set to hit shelves from the beginning of next month, are resealable plastic pods which contain wafer thin strips of ham or chicken, real Cheddar cheese and savoury shells.
Launching in Tesco and Sainsbury stores in the north and Scotland, Munchsters are being supported by a £2m spend which will include TV ads in the launch regions for six weeks from April, a direct mail coupon offer and ads in kids' and women's magazines.
Rsp for the 95g packs will be £1.19 for the first six weeks and then £1.39.
