Heinz is adding a touch of spice to its ketchup portfolio in the shape of two chilli-based variants.
The sauces, rolling out now in a top-down format, come in two variants Heinz Tomato Ketchup with Chilli and a hotter Fiery Chilli variant (rsp: 99p/255g). Both retained the "classic flavour" of Heinz Tomato Ketchup and were free from artificial colours, flavours and preservatives, said the company, adding that they would tap into the growing popularity of spicy products.
"Our launch combines the heritage of Heinz with a contemporary edge," said brand manager Lucy Clark.
Heinz has also introduced the top-down format across its HP BBQ range and its HP Fruity product. At 465g (rsp: £1.99 and £1.89 respectively), the bottles were 35g larger than regular bottles and would cater to barbecue users who tend to use more sauce, it said.
