Upmarket pie maker Higgidy has joined forces with Boots to launch a range of smaller quiches to capture a share of the lunchtime market.
Higgidy's Little Quiches, rolling into Boots this month, will be sold as part of the retailer's Meal Deal. Available in spinach, feta & roasted red pepper and smoked English ham & mature Cheddar, the quiches are positioned as an "ideal" alternative to a sandwich.
"The UK snacking market is worth £381m and we see great growth potential, as does Boots, which approached us about creating a product for its lunchtime market," said Higgidy founder Camilla Stephens.
The NPD allows us to extend the products' appeal as a lunchtime and on-the-go snack. Furthermore, being part of the Boots Meal Deal also offers shoppers great value for money."
The launch will be backed by press and sampling activity.
