Iceland has appointed law firm Gordons to handle all store acquisitions.
The three-year agreement will apply to all new stores in England and Wales.
The frozen discounter plans to open 25 The Food Warehouse stores across the UK this year.
The 10,000-15,000 sq ft stores, first launched in 2014, are aimed a families and bulk buyers as well as customers from hospitality and catering. Iceland currently has 34 The Food Warehouse stores in out-of-town retail parks.
Gordons, whose list of retail clients includes Morrisons, Steinhoff, B&M, Nisa and Costcutter, has already worked with Iceland for over two years, providing advice on various property and commercial matters.
“We have been impressed by the way they operate, and how they’ve worked in partnership with us,” said Iceland executive director Tarsem Dhaliwal. “They understand the retail world. We have no doubt they will continue to deliver commercial benefits as we implement our ongoing expansion plans for The Food Warehouse.”
Gordons managing partner Paul Ayre added: “Being appointed to handle all Iceland’s store acquisitions for the next three years is an outstanding start to 2017. The Food Warehouse is an excellent store concept, which allows us to further demonstrate our retail sector capabilities and provide additional performance improvements for Iceland.”
