Cheese, dairy and meat will be a big feature of IFE. For cheese buyers and lovers there will be lots of opportunities to sample as the cheese and dairy section will include a tasting area featuring winners of the World Cheese Awards, while a "best at show" cabinet will provide a quick guide to some of the tastiest exhibits.
Quality will be high from an impressive line up of British producers that includes South Caernarfon Creameries, Wyke Farms, Wensleydale Dairy Products, Swaledale Cheese Co, Lynher Dairies, the Pimpernel Wharf Agency and JG Quicke, while continental cheeses will be featured by Galbani, Fiorucci Twineham Grange Farm and many of the international pavilion exhibitors.
New products include Swaledale's Italiana cheese, Alvis Bros' organic versions of territorials, and Quicke's mini cheddar truckle.
Among the meat exhibitors, which include British Meat and Danish Prime, there will many new products.
Cherry Valley is showing a new Peking duck kit, a starter course containing a fully cooked Peking duck, pancakes and hoi sin sauce which can be prepared in minutes. Its development chef John Lee will demonstrate duck recipes from around the world.
Bernard Matthews is launching turkey goujons, oval steaks and butter basted turkey breast joints as part of its family value range.
The basted turkey joints come in new packaging which extends shelf life by 30%. It is also launching Fast Feasts, a range of frozen complete ready meals.
Flagship Foods' group company Roach Foods is to feature Lean n' Quick and Crisp n' Quick pre-grilled microwaveable bacon and plans to launch Perfect Pork, the first of a new range of packed loin steak products.
On a more exotic note Bombay Bangers is launching Quick Curry Fix speciality Indian sausages based on Anglo Indian recipes from the days of the Raj. Lamb, pork and vegetable sausages, wrapped with hot pickle, are the first offerings.
Exhibitors attending for the first time include Dare Valley Poultry and Ye Olde Oak which will be showing its recently launched Chilli Dogs and Giant Hot Dogs.
