Illsley for Northern

Northern Foods has appointed Tony Illsley as a non-executive director. Illsley previously held a number of senior marketing and operational roles with PepsiCo in the UK and Europe, before becoming president for Pepsi Cola Asia Pacific and president of Walkers Snack Foods. He currently holds non-executive positions with GCap Media, Plastic Logic, EasyJet and Aggregator TV. He is also a trustee of the children's charity Whizz-Kidz.

Society president

Britvic marketing director Andrew Marsden has been appointed president of the Marketing Society. Marsden joined Britvic as marketing director in 1997 with responsibility for the growth and innovation of brands such as Robinsons, J20, Pepsi and Tango. Prior to Britvic he was marketing director at HP Foods, and spent 15 years at Unilever. He takes over from Keith Weed, group vice president for Global Home Care at Unilever.

Newton joins Bacardi

Bacardi-Martini has appointed former InBev brands director Liam Newton as director of marketing for its Bacardi rum portfolio and Martini vermouth. He will lead the consumer marketing strategy and report to Andrew Carter, marketing director for Bacardi Brown-Forman brands. At InBev, Newton was responsible for brands including Stella Artois and Beck's.

Innocent reshuffle

Innocent Drinks, the maker of Innocent Smoothies, is recruiting a new UK marketing director after promoting Jamie Mitchell to the role of UK managing director. The move is part of a company reshuffle that will cause its three founders, Richard Reed, Adam Balon and Jon Wright, to extend their roles in order to focus on Innocent's expansion into Europe. The company is also looking to recruit brand and campaign managers.
