Jack Link’s has added a ‘sausage roll’ to its Peperami line-up.
The Peperami Roll, a smoked salami sausage wrapped in soft baked bread, is available now in single and three-pack format in ‘original’ and ‘hot’ flavours (rsp: £1.25-£2.50).
The roll would meet demand from men for “proper snacks to sink their teeth into”, said senior marketer Pavan Chandra. “Meat and bread is a favourite combination for manly munching and our new Peperami Roll offers just that.”
Unilever announced the sale of its meat snacks business, which also includes Continental Europe brand Bifi, to Jack Link’s last February.
Speaking to The Grocer in April, Jack Link’s sales director Bart de Vuijs said the company planned to launch new Peperami lines on a yearly basis.
“In the past couple of years the brand hasn’t been acting like a market leader,” he added. “We will be working towards being and becoming the category captain, where we are really trying to create growth not just for the brand but the total category.”
