Pernod Ricard is extending its Jameson Caskmates range with the addition of a variant aged in IPA casks.
The 40% abv Caskmates IPA Edition is produced in partnership with Irish craft brewery Franciscan Well. The tipple has already rolled out in Ireland and the US, and is set to hit the UK market some time next year.
To create the drink, Jameson casks are given to Franciscan Well to be filled with its IPA. They are returned to Jameson once the beer has “imparted its flavours”, and the whiskey is finished in them.
Since launch, Caskmates Stout Edition has racked up £183k in sales [Nielsen 52 w/e 9 September 2017].
