Sussex indie Jempson’s is set to open a new store in the autumn.

Building work has started at the store, in Wadhurst, East Sussex, which will be branded Jempson’s Budgens. A Jempson’s bakery and café will open next door.

It is part of a number of improvements planned by Jempson’s for 2013. It is refurbishing its supermarket in Rye and is also planning to add a pharmacy and home & garden centre to its flagship Peasmarsh store.
