JJ Foodservice is planning a campaign promoting MSC fish and seafood products.
The month-long campaign will see the wholesaler update product descriptions on its website, app and social media to include the benefits of choosing MSC products.
It will also see JJ create a dedicated MSC basket for customers to easily shop its 75 sustainably sourced fish and seafood products.
The basket will be available on the website, app, and on file from 7 October.
“As a national business we have a responsibility to educate our customers about the importance of protecting marine ecosystems and supporting responsible fishing practices,” said JJ chief product officer Sezer Ozkul.
“Not only does it help our customers to make more informed choices, but it also supports our group vision to have a positive impact.”
The business is committed to keep “working closely” with fishing vessels “to ensure a robust supply of high-quality products” available year-round.
JJ Foodservice obtained MSC certification in 2018. A member of the National Federation of Fish Friers, the wholesaler sells a wide range of wild-caught and frozen at sea products designed for a wide variety of hospitality operators including takeaways, pubs and hotels.
