Kallo Granolas lifestyle shot

Both granolas have launched into Waitrose and will hit Tesco shelves in November

Kallo has expanded its breakfast offering with an organic granola range.

Both variants (rsp: £3.99) – Three Nut Crunch and Superfruit Crunch – feature a base of organic oat flakes and wheat flakes, and provide 6.1g fibre per serving.

Three Nut also contains a blend of hazelnuts, almonds, and cashews, while Superfruit features dried cranberries, blackcurrants and blueberries.

Both cereals have already hit Waitrose shelves and will roll into Tesco in November. They will join Kallo’s existing Organic Wholegrain Puffed Rice Cereal, which is listed by Sainsbury’s and Ocado.

“Between our snack and stock products, Kallo has been able to offer naturally different options for most meal occasions, but we’ve been missing a really strong breakfast choice that represents everything Kallo stands for,” said Kallo granolas brand controller Caroline Mitchell.

“Cereals represent a big untapped opportunity, with 95% of UK households buying cereal,” Mitchell said, citing Mintel’s 2023 cereal category report.

There were “few options that give consumers a more sustainable choice”, said Mitchell, adding: “This is where Kallo can offer a true point of difference.”

It comes after the Ecotone-owned brand added a trio of tomato-based ambient dips into Ocado in July to tap “social snacking” occasions.

One of the dips – Organic Chunky Tomato & Lentil – has been shortlisted in the store cupboard category of The Grocer’s New Product & Packaging Awards 2024.

Kallo’s Thai Curry Veggie Cakes, meanwhile, have been shortlisted in the healthier snacking category.
