Key’s of Lincolnshire has launched what it claims to be the first pink onion grown on a commercial scale in the UK, in response to growing demand for different vegetable varieties.
The variety, Rosanna, has a mild and sweet flavour and is being marketed as a multi-purpose onion for everything from casseroles to salads.
“Consumers seem to have an insatiable appetite for new products to try, so when I heard about this new variety of onion I immediately snapped it up,” said Key’s of Lincolnshire owner Fraser Key.
