Leeds Co-op is on the hunt for new food stores.
The society, which operates 18 food stores in and around Leeds, posted a 5.2% rise in food sales to £17m in the half year to June 26.

Like-for-like sales growth was also 5.2% as the society has not opened any new stores this year.

Chief executive Alan Gill said: “We are currently in discussions on several outlets in and around Leeds which offer the potential to become successful Leeds Co-op food stores.”

Cash was also available for refurbishments, said Gill, with £1m refits for the Sherburn and Cardigan Road stores in the pipeline.
