Bargain Booze retailer Lia Rutter has opened a second franchise.
Rutter, who acquired her first store in Macclesfield four years ago, has secured investment from Royal Bank of Scotland to open a second Bargain Booze outlet less than two miles away from her first store.
Sales at the new store have increased by £2,000 a week in the first two weeks of trading and are expected to continue rising over Christmas and the new year.
“I have been involved with retail for over 15 years and one day I thought I can do this for myself, and so I did,” said Rutter.
“It’s daunting when you are investing large sums of money into a new business but I was confident Bargain Booze would work for me. Opening my latest shop on Westmorland Close is testament to the confidence I had in the business model and I’m pleased I took on the challenge as sales are increasing each week.”
Rutter said plans were already in the pipeline to acquire further sites and expand the business.
“I’m not stopping at two shops, I will continue to identify the next suitable location for me and when I find this I will be purchasing my third business, which is all really exciting,” she said.
Royal Bank of Scotland business relationship manager Bev Berzins said: “Lia is such an inspiration to not only women in business but entrepreneurs in general. She displays such drive and passion and we have every confidence she will expand her portfolio into a thriving empire one day as she has the right attitude for business.”
