Lidl is hailing a “revolutionary” crisp flavour, as Deluxe with Love Negroni Hand Cooked Crisps arrives in the discounter’s stores.
At 99p per 150g bag, the NPD is formulated from flavours in the cocktail concocted in Florence in 1919, including gin and vermouth rosso, with a tang of orange to reflect the traditional orange peel garnish. The combined ingredients create “a unique, bittersweet” taste, according to Lidl.
The Negroni-inspired crisps form part of the retailer’s Christmas snacking range along with two other new flavours: Goats Cheese & Apple Chutney and Pigs in Blankets.
“Although they are an unusual taste for a crisp, we know from experience that our customers are always interested in trying new, bold flavours,” said Lukas Schmidlin, senior buying manager at Lidl.
