Lidl has become the latest supermarket to try its hand at own-label craft beer.
The discounter has added a six-strong range of trendy brews under its Hatherwood Craft Beer Company brand.
They are: Bitter Iron IPA (5.4% abv), Plunged Orange Pale Ale (6% abv), Hop Hunter Session IPA (4.4% abv), Shipwreck Lager (4.3% abv), Twisted Knots American IPA (5.5% abv) and Red Rye Captain Pale Ale (4.2% abv) (rsp:99p/330ml).
Bitter Iron, Plunged Orange and Twisted Knots have launched in a 330ml can, while the remaining beers are bottled.
It comes as Asda has developed a range of own-label craft beer, which are brewed by Bad Co of North Yorkshire.
Asda’s range consists of American IPA (5.2% abv), Denver Milk Stout (5.5% abv), West Coast Pale Ale (5.6% abv) and Perfect Pilsner (4.5% abv). They are expected to roll out at the end of August in a 330ml can.
