Lidl is to make its Facebook promotion poll a regular event following a positive reaction from its customers.
The first poll, run last week, asked shoppers which type of lettuce they would like to see reduced from 79p to 50p. Three hundred shoppers voted for British Iceberg lettuce over British Cos or British Little Gem.
“We wanted to empower our customers with choice,” said a spokeswoman for Lidl.
Meanwhile, Lidl has signed a two-year, six-figure deal to sponsor the Pride of Britain awards, previously backed by The Co-operative Group.
“We feel very honoured to be involved,” said Lidl UK MD Ronny Gottschlich.
