Superstars (rsp: £3.95/300g) will launch exclusively in Ocado on 7 April

Kids’ food brand Little Dish has made its frozen debut with a healthier take on chicken nuggets.

Called Superstars (rsp: £3.95/300g), the NPD comprises star-shaped nuggets made from British chicken breast with “hidden” cauliflower.

Intended for primary school-aged children, they are claimed to contain 50% less salt than standard chicken nuggets and are coated with a gluten-free crumb.

Superstars’ “eye-catching” pink packs feature a “friendly” dinosaur and “cool” polar bear.

They will launch exclusively into Ocado on 7 April, with additional recipes and retailers to follow.

“We are delighted to have created a truly revolutionary chicken nugget which is delicious and loved by kids, but also healthy and packed with veg,” said Little Dish founder Hillary Graves.

“Superstars received the highest ever score from our kid tasting panel,” Graves added.

Dean Brown, Little Dish CEO, said he was “proud” of Superstars’ “clean ingredient deck which has been well received by retailers and parents”.

Little Dish debuted its range of chilled ready meals for tots almost 20 years ago, after identifying “a gap in the market for freshly prepared meals like parents would make in their own kitchen”, according to Graves.

It expanded its range with Big Dish, a range of chilled ready meals for children aged five-to-10, in October 2024.
