Tots’ ready meal brand Little Dish has unveiled a range of after-school meals for “big kids”.
Aimed at children aged five to 10, Big Dish will debut with larger 400g formats of two of Little Dish’s bestselling recipes: Spaghetti & Meatballs and Chicken Tikka.
Both had been approved by “a panel of bigger kids” to ensure they appealed to older children’s tastebuds, said Little Dish.
They will hit Morrisons chillers on 9 October (rsp: £3.99).
In line with the existing Little Dish range, the meals are made with all-natural ingredients, provide two of the recommended 5 a day and are low in salt with no added sugar.
They were developed in response to consumer feedback, said Little Dish founder Hillary Graves.
“Parents have asked us to make bigger portions of our award-winning meals, so we’re listening and responding to what they want,” she said.
The launch came as the brand was “enjoying phenomenal growth”, added Little Dish CEO Dean Brown.
“We now have over three-quarters of market share (77%) in chilled kids’ meals with 31% year-on-year volume growth,” he said, citing NIQ data [52 w/e 7 September 2024].
The meals are packaged in Little Dish’s innovative recyclable wood fibre trays, which scooped a trio of accolades at The Grocer’s New Product & Packaging Awards 2023.
