More than 80 jobs have been saved following a management buy-out at Tindale & Stanton.

It was previously part of Bakery Products, the business owned by Arthur Harris that fell into administration earlier this month. The company has now been bought by a consortium of four managers and renamed Star Cottage Bakery.

“We are pleased to have been able to sell the business as a going concern, particularly as the buyers are former employees,” said joint administrators John Russell and Andy Wood from The P&A Partnership.

“We must thank employees who have supported the administrators throughout the process. Also, the bakery’s key secured creditors, who gave us their backing to keep the business trading.”

In a separate deal, two bakery shops in Harrogate, which were owned by Bakery Products, have been sold to a new company called Howards Bakery, saving 16 jobs.

More than 100 staff were made redundant at Bakery Products earlier this month.
