Marks and Spencer has appointed Syd Reid as category manager for wine and drinks, marking the fourth change to the position in two years.
Reid will add the responsibility to his existing role of category manager for the retailer’s flowers and plants scetion. He has extensive retail experience within M&S’ food business.
Reid replaces James Leeson, who is moving on after a year in the role to take up the position of category manager for M&S’ grocery and household division.
Leeson previously worked for 10 years at retail giant Wal-Mart, where he was a buyer manager for its home care and cleaning business.
During this period he also worked for Asda, focusing on retail operations before moving to the supermarket group’s wines and spirits team.
