Merchant Gourmet has launched a direct-to-consumer platform in a bid to make plant-based eating “more accessible”.
The new online shop would offer “an easy way for shoppers to purchase their favourite Merchant Gourmet products”, it said.
It will offer a range of exclusive bundles and meal boxes, with all products available on a ‘subscribe and save’ plan, offering customers a 10% discount when they opt in to regular deliveries every 14, 30, 60 or 90 days.
Shoppers can also sign up to the brand’s Appetite for Change Recycle Scheme – which launched in March – to be sent pre-paid, pre-addressed envelopes that can be filled with its used pouches and posted to Enval.
The launch comes ahead of Veganuary as the brand “ramps up its mission to inspire more people to eat more plants with its full range of simple, plant-based products”.
Merchant Gourmet MD Richard Peake said: “We are driven by the fundamental belief that a world where people eat more plants is a better place: better for our health and better for the planet.
“We’ve seen online shopping surge during the pandemic, with consumers’ expectations at an all-time high.”
As a result, the brand had designed its new website “with the customer at heart, focusing on ease, convenience, and user experience”, he added.
It comes after the brand recently boosted its range with a trio of Plant Jars.
Billed as a “centre of plate” range for the pulses and grains stalwart, the range – which consists of Rich Puy Lentil Bolognese with Porcini Mushrooms, Spicy Lentil Chilli with Black Beans & Corn and Fragrant Lentil Madras Curry with Chickpeas & Squash – launched in September.
