Longslow Food Group and Creamline Dairies have picked up the fresh milk businesses of Lancashire Dairies, which called in the receivers last month. Creamline has bought the doorstep business and Longslow, based in Colwyn Bay, North Wales, has bought the retail business supplying mid-tier contracts in the middle ground milk market. As The Grocer went to press, discussions were continuing over the branded flavoured milk produced under licence at the site including Benecol, Mars and Milky Way milkshakes, and Superlife flavoured milk. Longslow Food Group MD Paul Goulding said the acquisition represented a significant move towards the family owned group's aim of becoming the UK's leading independent supplier of milk and dairy products. {{NEWS }}
